It's Sunday with Dan | 2023 September 17

Hunter "Lawyers, Guns, and Money" Biden was charged with 3 counts of criminal activity this week revolving around his purchase of a handgun while being a cocaine and vodka addict. However, they might be unconstitutional since the Trump Supreme Court expanded gun rights last year. And a GOP court in July ruled that drug users have a constitutional right to own firearms. For their personal protection, of course.

The spineless Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy did his best imitation of an abandoned mine on a "Bonanza " rerun and caved in to threats by the MAGA wing of the House and issued an impeachment inquiry into President Uncle Joe Biden, despite no evidence after 3 years of accusations and hearings. This did not deter Representative Matt " She was just seventeen and you know what I mean" Gaetz from issuing a threat to remove McCarthy the very next day. Give the mouse a cookie and he'll want a glass of milk.

Republican Senator Mitt Romney declared he would not pursue reelection next term. He served as many years in the Senate as "The Simpsons" has been on television. But before we hail him as a beacon of public service let's not forget he left the leveraged buyout firm of Bain Capital with a net worth of 175 million dollars (at a 15 percent tax rate) before he ran for office. To a state he moved to. And his great quote from his 2012 presidential campaign that 43 percent of voters would always vote Democratic because they get their income, food, health care, and housing from the government. He was a real man of the people.

Today was the much advertised debut of Kristen "Sam's cousin" Welker as moderator of "Meet the Press." She could not have been dealt a worse hand. She wanted an inside straight and she got the dead man's hand. NBC went for a blatant ratings grab and gave the self congratulatory gas bag Donnie Trump 35 minutes to lie, name call, interrupt and brag about himself. He called for an end to deficit spending. He cited the 35 billion the nation is in debt. He failed to mention that he was responsible for 8 billion of that. He once again called prosecutor Jack Smith a deranged lunatic. He said the January 6th insurrection was all Nancy Pelosi's fault. He said the Russian invasion of Ukraine was the fault of stupid Joe Biden. He said that he would not answer what he would do if China invaded Taiwan because only stupid people tip their hands.

On the abortion issue he once again declared that Democrats approve of abortion after birth. Basically he danced around the entire abortion issue like he was Julianne Hough's new partner on "Dancing With the Stars." As a tough questioner Kristen lobbed up more fat softballs than a typical Wednesday Night Slow Pitch Beer League game. The late lamented Lemmy Kilmister once said that it's rough at the top, but it's rougher on the bottom. Today we witnessed the bottom.

In entertainment news, Christian icon, 36 year old grandmother, and adulterer Representative Lauren Boebert was removed from a Denver theater this week for disturbing a performance of "Beetlejuice The Musical." She and her date for the evening sang, waved their arms, took selfies, and vaped. The security footage also shows her escort fondling her breasts. Video also shows this model of morals giving the one finger salute to the staff as she exits the venue. What would Miss Manners say? The gypsies warned of the danger. You can laugh and joke with friends, but you don't ever talk to strangers.
