It's Sunday with Dan | 2023 May 7

In my fair city they are heavily advertising an upcoming concert featuring Alabama and the Marshall Tucker Band. Another greatest hits tour. Today's " Meet the Press" was exactly the same. You knew the answer in advance to every question Chuck Todd would ask. First to grace the screen was Democratic House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries. Addressing the budget and debt ceiling issue Jeffries slogan is "The Republicans didn't submit a budget, they gave us a ransom note." The GOP wants to take money out of health, social services, and education. But remember Jeffries top 4 cash campaign contributors are Wall Street, pro--Israel, real estate, and lawyers. Not exactly the voice of the Friday Night Smackdown voter. Up next was the two time governor of Arkansas Asa "Mohair Sam" Hutchinson. He has announced his candidacy for the Republican presidential nomination. That puts him in the same company of Mike Pence, Tim Scott, Nikki "The Velvet Hammer" Haley, and Ron "Little Hitler" DeSantis. They are all in the "Why Am I Here?" club. Asa says his party must look to the future and not the past. As an anti-Trumper he's in the wrong corner of the playpen. A party whose base is hip to anger and revenge does not nominate Wally Cox to be their standard bearer. And the baffling moment of the morning was when they showed Prince Harry leaving the coronation of Charles the 3rd. They said Harry was the "non-working" Royal. Color me dumb, but who are the working members of the Royalty?
